This Compost! Green Whitman

Join us at this outdoor Whitman-inspired writing workshop! Poet and U Iowa Professor Micah Bateman leads this one-of-a-kind workshop in which you'll hear and discuss selections from Walt Whitman's poem "This Compost," receive an original writing prompt, and enjoy time outdoors to explore and write in the beautiful environment of Whitman's Glade at Harvest Preserve in Iowa City.

This is a sliding scale workshop, and everyone is welcome.

After registering, detailed driving directions will be emailed to you. We're meeting at Harvest Preserve, an easy drive just off of Scott Boulevard in Iowa City.

Instructor

 Micah Bateman is an assistant professor at the University of Iowa and the editor of the online Walt Whitman Collection at the Harry Ransom Center. He is also a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop and the author of a chapbook of poems, Polis.
