Workshop meets over four weeks in October:
Tution Assistance Available!
As writers, we often find ourselves struggling with one piece of writing for weeks (sometimes even months). We know the work needs something, but we cannot identify exactly what. Then, after sharing our work and hearing other perspectives, we are able to breathe life into a poem we were ready to abandon. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to find people who are willing and able to provide feedback. It can be intimidating to share work that we know is not “ready” or “polished.” The Feedback Chamber is designed to provide participants with a short term literary community focused on sharing works in progress and receiving and giving feedback to others.
Over the course of 4 weeks, each participant will submit a poem to be workshopped during a live session. Each participant will also have the opportunity to submit a poem to the facilitator for private feedback. This workshop is intended for intermediary poets who have an established writing practice or specific pieces they would like to receive feedback on. However, the first session will include a generative writing exercise. The following three weeks will be devoted to workshopping each other's work. An optional reading will take place via Zoom at the conclusion of the workshop.
