Ellen Huang

Ellen Huang (she/her) loves fairy tales. Holding a BA in Writing and a Theatre minor from Point Loma Nazarene University, she has directed four short plays and is published/forthcoming in 75 venues. These include Kissing Dynamite, Rogue Agent, Sword & Kettle Press, From the Farther Trees, and South Broadway Ghost Society. She is also a retired Managing Editor and current Peer Reviewer of Whale Road Review. Besides running a blog exploring spirituality with movies, she is working on a fairytale chapbook as well as a horror comedy anthology.

Rachel McPherson

Rachel McPherson

Rachel grew up between Charlottesville, Virginia and Iowa City, Iowa and lived in Boston, Massachusetts for undergrad. She taught Family Literacy at Kirkwood Community College, taught ESL in Barcelona, Spain from 2008-2015, and volunteered as a writing tutor at IMCC/Oakdale Prison in Coralville, Iowa through the University of Iowa’s Liberal Arts Beyond Bars program. She recently earned her Master’s in English Education from the University of Iowa. Her longtime interests include journal writing, folklore, long-haul train travels, and literary translation. Rachel’s friends know her best for lengthy voice notes and for sometimes carelessly getting stuck on mountaintops. Upcoming projects include a collaboration on a Spanish translation of her father’s short-story collection, Elbow Room, with Salvadoran poet, Tania Pleitez Vela. 

Micky Bayonne

Micky Bayonne

Micky Bayonne (they/them) is a queer poet/musician/visual artist. They spend a lot of time talking to people about their Judy Garland obsession and watching 90's sitcoms. When they grow up they want to build a yurt and move to the west coast. Micky is the current Provost Visiting Writer in Poetry at the University of Iowa.
