Slam-O-Vision 2026 Judging Event

Last year the international Slamovision slam poetry champion was Iowa's own Henry Morray. Who will win this year?

Join us on Oct. 21 and make sure your voice is heard!

We will gather at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, in Meeting Room A of the Iowa City Public Library for a special Slamovision judging event. The videos are in from slam poets from 20 other UNESCO Cities of Literature. We'll watch them, rank them, and eat pizza while we do. Our scores will join with those from the other cities, and an international Slamovision champion will be crowned on Nov. 1.

All free and open to the public. Join us to see some of the world's best slam poets perform.

(The finals on Nov. 1 will be live in Iowa City this year. Come out to the James Theater at 2 p.m. for live poets, music from the Blake Shaw Trio, and a chance to be the first people in the world to find out who won this year's competition)
