Over a Saturday afternoon on December 10, participants will discuss and demystify the nuts and bolts of submitting to literary journals. How do you format a cover letter and what information should you include? What preliminary research might be beneficial before even starting to submit to journals? What are some journals worth exploring, particularly for hybrid work? What resources are available to us as writers that can help optimize our chances of being published and/or building community amongst fellow writers? With a mixture of informal class conversation, guided discussion questions, and lecture, we will explore strategies to support writers of any genre before, during, and after the submission process.
